Asterias 2 – Pupil's book

Asterias 2 is a textbook that places a greater emphasis on writing compared to Asterias 1. The communicative goals are broadened to include a variety of texts and songs. By the end of this level, students will confidently converse about transportation using various means of transport, employing verbs of movement with ease. They will be able to discuss school subjects, hobbies, and favorite extracurricular activities, as well as describe their homes and a range of professions. Students will also learn how to invite friends to parties both orally and in writing, and recount past events. Additionally, they will use the past continuous tense to describe their vacations, along with the relevant time and place expressions. They will be able to express their food preferences and work with numbers up to 10,000. Finally, students will learn to give directions and describe their living situations.

Pronunciation and accentuation are emphasized through targeted exercises. Grammar is initially taught through communication before being structured into organized tables. Cultural topics explore ethics, customs, mythology, history, the Greek school system, and Greek folk music, as showcased through the songs in Asterias 2. Children will also gain a deeper appreciation for the aesthetics of the Greek language through literary texts.
