In Asterias 1b, young learners will effectively reach their communicative objectives. Similar to Asterias 1a, this level incorporates captivating illustrations and songs to support language learning. The focus of the Asterias 1b textbook is primarily on speaking skills, with an additional emphasis on writing development through the accompanying workbook.

This level introduces new themes that broaden the communicative goals and vocabulary, exploring topics such as clothing, seasons and months, weather, transportation, and housing types, alongside terminology associated with moving and furniture. The vocabulary related to cities, suburbs, streets, and buildings is enhanced with questions about the locations of residents. The numerical range expands up to 21. Moreover, learners will be introduced to new tenses, including the simple future and past tense, through engaging activities related to winter holidays like Christmas, New Year’s, and Epiphany, which also incorporate cultural elements. The material at this beginner level is further enriched with adverbs, pronouns, and various grammatical aspects, alongside greetings, wishes, and additional expressions.
